O.B.E.I. is currently looking for two teachers for the 2010 school year: one for 1st grade and one for Kindergarten. Our ideal candidates would be energetic, enthusiastic, creative individuals who are flexible and work well in a group. Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, managing the classroom, preparing grade reports, and meeting quarterly with parents to discuss student progress. We require a minimum one-year commitment. Position starts in mid-December. In addition to the school, the building also houses a Montessori school. Cobán is a beautiful town located about 200 kilometers north of Guatemala City, about four hours away by bus. It was founded in 1543 and is currently a friendly combination of old and new. Like in any city, there are basic services as well as tourist attractions. There are schools, radio stations, markets, hotels, restaurants, and public transportation. Cobán is the third largest city in Guatemala, with about 20,000 people in the city itself.
