Volunteer English Teachers required in Northern India

Location: McCleod Ganj, Dharamsala, Northern India , India

Job Description: Tibet Charity Education Center is looking for volunteer English Teachers to teach young Tibetan adults for our upcoming semester from August 1st to December 31st , 2010. Tibet Charity ( www.tibetcharity.in ) is located in McCleod Ganj, Dharamsala, in Northern India. It is the home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in Exile. We teach English and computers. We also have a Health Care Section and a Animal Care Section. We have a spacious building located in the foothills of the Himalayas with numerous restaurants and opportunities for hiking, yoga, Buddhist teachings, and meditation classes.

Job Details: We offer a structured program using the ?New English File? textbooks. We have five different class levels from Beginner to Upper Intermediate. Classes are 2 hours long. You can teach either 2 or 4 hours per day Monday to Friday. Students are Highly motivated and enthusiastic. We have relaxed work environment, great classrooms, whiteboards, overhead projector, etc. We also have photocopying facilities, email access. Free nutritious lunch is provided. We provide assistance in finding accommodation at reduced rates . Preference will be given to MA, CELTA qualified teachers, but will also consider candidates with significant experience. We are looking for those who can commit for an entire semester (4 and half months), but will consider shorter stays. Most teachers have taught for the entire semester.
