Full time position in Japan's third largest city!

Job Description: Advantage English, a fun and growing conversation school located in Nagoya Japan, needs to fill a full- time, one year position, as soon as possible. At this time we are giving preference to North American applicants who have experience with kids or who have a TEYL (teaching English to young learners certificate. (All our instructors teach both kids and adults however.) Holders of CELTA and or TESL certificates should also apply. All applicants must have a BA or higher. Do not apply if you don't have at least a BA or are not a native English speaker.) Sponsorship provided. Minimum contracts are for one year and renewable. North American women who are eager (sing, art, care etc.) to teach kids are encouraged to apply even with minimal or no experience. Applicants residing in Japan will be interviewed regardless of qualifications (must have a BA though!). Start date: The sooner the better. (We may need two teachers starting at different times. Competitive and career minded salary: Advantage English contracts are incentive laden, rewarding the hard working and popular teacher. Instructors are guaranteed from 230,000 to 280,000+yen per month, working from 25 -28 contact hours. After the guaranteed pay and agreed upon contact hour load, instructors are able to qualify for overtime pay. Guaranteed salary and contact hour load are based upon genuine ESL experience and qualifications. You will only be informed of your probable rate if we decide to contact you upon receiving your application. Working hours: Instructors who have fulfilled their weekly contact hour load are only required to be in the schools for their classes. Instructors also have paid vacation during the summer O-bon for a week, and winter from 7-10 days. Great neighborhood with many shops, grocery stores and restaurants all in walking distance. The main school is also about 8 minutes away on foot. No key money. Limited deposit and some returned barring damage. Nagoya: As a place to live, Nagoya is often described as, 'sumiyasui', the literal meaning being, 'easy to live'. Even though itís the third largest city in Japan, Nagoya sometimes feels like a big city in the United States. The city roads are wide, apartments comfortable and the cost of living reasonable. It has everything that Tokyo and Osaka have, just not as hectic and expensive. Great skiing and snowboarding are just two hours away. You can get to Kyoto in 45 minutes if you opt to take the Shinkansen (bullet train.). Osaka is an hour away and Tokyo just under two. Japanese lessons: Offered free of charge by Yoko Honda, depending on her availability. Staff: Advantage English was founded by Raul Boggio(USA) in 1996 and is run by Raul and Yoko Honda, a native of Nagoya. The current instructors are from the USA . We are a social bunch and have many events and parties. We have a near zero turnover rate. We are selective and instructors tend to stay for more than a year.

Job Description: Yale Institute is a small private English conversation school located in Ueda, a scenic, historic city of 160,000 in Nagano Prefecture. We are not affiliated with Yale University. We teach students of all ages, from pre-schoolers to adults. We are at present looking for a native English speaker for a full-time teaching position, to start October 1 or as soon as possible thereafter. Native speakers only (NOT gnative levelh) need apply. The position involves private and small-group lessons at our main school and in the area, plus full responsibility for the English program at a local elementary school with approximately 200 students in grades 1-6. The overall balance of lessons is roughly half adults, half children.

Job Details: The work week is basically six days with Sundays off, but with frequent days off on weekdays here and there, in addition to all Japanese national holidays; all in all, the number of days off is above average for this type of job. We schedule most of our lessons on a reservation system, so actual working hours will vary according to bookings, but in general will fall between 1:30 and 9:30 p.m. at the main school, and public school hours at the elementary school. You will teach a maximum of 25 hours per week, for a salary of \250,000 per month. A valid working visa and an international or Japanese driverfs license are required. Yale will provide visa sponsorship if necessary, but if you need to make a trip outside the country to obtain your visa, the trip will be at your own expense.
